Hurricane Shutters
Did you know????
Our disaster committee recently consulted an insurance company regarding the fine print on insurance coverage for condo coverage and revealed a not well known fact.
If you state that you have hurricane shutters on your insurance application and you do NOT put them up in the event of a hurricane, YOU ARE NOT COVERED!

Options for replacing windows in the Condominiums have been approved.
We are well aware that many residents are seasonal and it is a hardship for many to be charged with the responsibility of installing the panel shutters during a hurricane warning.
If you do not have impact resistant glass windows currently installed in your units, our bylaws state that the hurricane shutters provided by Taylor Morrison need to be installed at onset of a storm watch or warning announcement and removed within five days after watch or warning is lifted.

As the pictures show, the community did suffer from wind damages. The pictures also show that NOT ALL RESIDENTS put up hurricane shutters. This puts all buildings at risk.
Please have a vendor in mind to call and put up your shutters when warnings of hurricanes come up. We were extremely fortunate not to have sustained more damage.
